WG5 Research Seminar - Talk by Petra Csomós

On October 28, 2022, Petra Csomós (Eötvös Loránd University Budapest) will give a talk at 11:00 am CEST about

"Magnus method for delay equations, with an application to epidemic models".

The talk will be held online in Zoom. The zoom URL will be sent to all members of the WG5 and to all further colleagues who send a mail to Jan Giesselmann.

Abstract

We will show how an abstract delay equation can be written in the form of a time-dependent evolution equation so that the Magnus method can be applied for approximating its solution. The second-order convergence and the importance of the exitstence of invariant sets will be mentioned. As an application, we treat an epidemic model with latent period which incorporates the random movement of the population, too.
