WG5 Research Seminar - Talk by Sílvia Barbeiro

On November 25, 2022 at 11:00 am CET, Sílvia Barbeiro (CMUC, Department of Mathematics, University of Coimbra) will give a talk about

"Learning stable nonlinear cross-diffusion models for image restoration".

The talk will be held online in Zoom. The zoom URL will be sent to all members of the WG5 and to all further colleagues who send a mail to Jan Giesselmann.

Abstract

Image restoration is one of the major concerns in image processing with many interesting applications. In the last decades there has been intensive research around the topic and hence new approaches are constantly emerging. Partial differential equation based models, namely of non-linear diffusion type, are well-known and widely used for image noise removal. In this seminar we will start with a concise introduction about diffusion and cross-diffusion models models for image restoration. Then, we will discuss a flexible learning framework in order to optimize the parameters of the models improving the quality of the denoising process. This is based on joint work with Diogo Lobo.
